Jazz Ensemble takes top state honor
Congratulations to the Marlborough High School Jazz Ensemble and Director Gary Piazza for earning a gold medal at the Division I State Festival held at Framingham High School on March 22! The MHS Jazz Ensemble’s recent gold medal rating at the Central District level allowed them to compete again with fellow gold medal-winning high school jazz bands from other districts throughout the state.
 
Special congratulations to the following MHS students who received a Recognition of Outstanding Musicianship special honor: trumpeter Connor Bailey, alto saxophonist Justin Bartlett, trombonist David Coughlin, and alto saxophonist Sarah Hanahan.  Additionally, at the state competition, the judges present an award to one student who they deem most deserving of special recognition. Congratulations to​ Sarah Hanahan for receiving this year’s​ ​Division I Most Valuable Player​!

MHS students shine at business conference
The Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference was March 7-9, and the MHS team earned numerous awards and recognitions

MHS students swept the Individual Payroll and Accounting event: Kudos to Taylor Allen, first place; Richard Bourgeiois, second place, Alexandra Zouharis, third place, Matt Allen, fourth place, and Devin Clemons, fifth place. For a complete list of winners and events, click here!

Symphony Hall Scholars named, Jazz Ensemble heads to state
Three Marlborough High School singers have been chosen to participate in the 2014-15 All-State Music Concert at Boston’s Symphony Hall on March 21. Congratulations to tenor William Goliger, alto Lauren Fay and tenor Noah Ogden, who will perform with 500 of the most talented student musicians from across the state at the All-State Music Concert at Boston's Symphony Hall March 21. They represent excellence in achievement and therefore are known as Symphony Hall Scholars.
 
Congratulations also to the MHS Jazz Ensemble for receiving a gold medal at the Central District Massachusetts Association of Jazz Educators (MAJE) Festival, which enables the ensemble to continue competition at the state level.  The MAJE State competition will be March 22 at Framingham High School.  Special recognition goes to alto saxophonist Sarah Hanahan, trumpeter Connor Bailey, and electric and string bassist Shawheen Fagan for receiving "Outstanding Musicianship" awards at the Central District Festival

National Merit Commended and National Achievement Students at MHSCongratulations to Christopher Allen, Thomas DiPersio III, Alysha McGovern and Ruth Schade who have been named Commended Students in the 2015 National Merit Scholarship Program.  

Mark Tawadrous has been named as an Outstanding Participant in the 2015 National Achievement Scholarship Program.

PARENTS: Please read the attached letter regarding the Enterovirus D-68, the district's vigilance in watching for trends in illness patterns, and what students, parents and staff can do to help prevent spreading of the virus should it occur in our community.
PARENTS: On Oct. 15, MPS schools mailed out letters to parents/guardians regarding the 2014 MCAS scores, school accountability and performance, and initiatives that target areas for improvement. Also included with each letter grades K-8 was a Title 1 Compact for parents.
